ARTFLOW

Empowering Artists with a Creative Hub

The aim of this app redesign was to provide artists with an all-in-one digital workspace that streamlines the creative process. With features for sketching, importing artwork, and exploring new ideas, the app fosters a supportive community of inspiration. Designed for tech-savvy creatives, the app’s unique organization system lets users store, modify, and access sketches and references with ease, making it a powerful tool compared to typical sketchbook apps and platforms like Pinterest.

Creating an Organized, Artist-Centred Experience

This redesign focused on a user-friendly experience that keeps artists’ materials organized in one accessible place. I worked through multiple sketches and iterations to refine a unique, artistic aesthetic while maintaining simplicity. Weekly client check-ins ensured alignment with the brand vision and incorporated feedback effectively. Final adjustments emphasized cohesive colour choices and layout refinements, achieving a polished design that stands out while simplifying creative organization

A Unified, Intuitive App for Creative Flow

The completed app achieved a clean, cohesive look, with intuitive navigation and well-organized pages that simplify the creative process. The client was pleased with how seamlessly the design aligns with the app’s purpose, making it an effective tool for artists. Reflecting on the project, I would focus more on refining icon choices to further enhance the app's usability and visual appeal.

Step by Step: Project Timeline

Research

The research focused on understanding what users need in a creative art app. A problem statement was made to guide the design, making sure the app would be easy to use and meet user expectations. This step set the direction for the project.

Flow Charts

Flowcharts were created to map out the app's navigation and user journey. This step visualized the structure, ensuring intuitive paths and streamlined interactions for a more seamless user experience.

Mood Board

A mood board was developed to establish the visual tone and direction for the redesign, incorporating inspiration from modern art tools, color palettes, and design aesthetics. This guided the creative process while ensuring a cohesive look and feel.

Sketching

Initial sketches explored layout ideas and potential interface designs, emphasizing simplicity and clarity. These rough drafts provided the foundation for translating ideas into tangible concepts.

High Fidelity Sketches

High-fidelity sketches refined the initial drafts into polished, detailed designs. This step focused on typography, spacing, and incorporating brand elements to bring the concepts closer to the final product.

 Mockups

Interactive mockups were created to simulate the user experience and demonstrate the app’s functionality. These mockups facilitated iterative testing and feedback, ensuring the redesign met both user needs and design goals.
